Lower octaves create deep sub drones. Octave 2–3 is bass territory. Octave 4 is mid-range. Keep sub octave layer off below octave 3.

Tip: Start with just the root and fifth for a pure, open drone. Add the octave for warmth. Mix wave types — a sine root with a triangle fifth creates a rich but clean texture. Reduce volumes of higher harmonics so the root always dominates. Use 432 Hz tuning for a warmer, slightly flatter character.
